Mayer Electric Supply Company, Inc. signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire The Hite Company from Lee Hite and family on March 12, 2018. The Hite Company will become the Northeast Region of Mayer Electric Supply and will operate as The Hite Company, a Division of Mayer Electric. The Hite Company will retain its name and brand. The Hite Company has reported revenues of over $143 million in the year ending December 31, 2017. T. Scott Lawhead, President and Chief Executive Officer will be the new Division Vice President for the Northeast. All associates of The Hite Company will continue to operate after the transaction. The Hite Company will operate essentially unchanged, with purchasing and payables remaining centralized in Altoona. The transaction is expected to close on March 26, 2018.

The company was founded in 1949 and is based in Altoona, Pennsylvania with locations in Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia with lighting showrooms in Altoona, State College, Erie, Williamsport, and Johnstown.
